Review Swiss Diamond Non-Stick Frying Pan
Founded in 2001, Swiss Diamond is a premium brand of cookware and cookware.
It is known for its revolutionary non-stick coating made with diamond crystals for superior thermal conductivity and high durability. The same coating can be seen in the non-stick skillet we are going to review here.
The Swiss Diamond Non-Stick Skillet has been voted Best Non-Stick Cookware Set for the past 3 consecutive years due to its non-stick coating. Learn more here.
What comes with the pan
The Swiss Diamond Non-Stick Frying Pan is available in 4 different sizes and comes with a clear tempered glass lid.
The lid has a knob that doubles as a steam vent for advanced humidity control. The four sizes include 8-inch, 9.5-inch, 11-inch, and 12.5-inch pans.
Whichever size you choose, the handles stay cool and ergonomic. To prevent the buildup of undetectable bacteria, they are firmly attached to the pan without rivets.
Frying pan material construction
The Swiss Diamond non-stick frying pan has an aluminum base. Due to its thermal conductivity, aluminum is a very popular material for cookware.
The special thing about the Swiss Diamond pan is that the aluminum base is formed under high pressure.
For this reason, the brand claims that the pan will never warp. In addition, the perfectly flat bottom of the pan ensures even heat distribution.
To ensure that the base of the pan adheres strongly to non-stick coatings, it has been sandblasted with a plasma coating to eliminate oxidation.
The three-layer non-stick coating is reinforced with diamonds. This causes the coating to burn like stainless steel, preventing sticky food particles from sticking to the pan.
The coating of each pan is made up of up to 240,000 diamond crystals. Because diamond is the toughest substance on earth, it provides exceptional longevity and coating strength.
In addition, diamonds are better conductors of heat than metal. For those who rely on copper, diamonds are 4 times more conductive than this material. This ensures even heat distribution across the surface of the pan.
The diamond-based coating not only extends the life of the pan, but also makes food release easier, making cleanup a breeze. Superior thermal conductivity, backed by a diamond coating, also promotes scorching and browning.
Swiss Diamond went the extra mile by evaluating the life and durability of the pan’s non-stick coating.
He developed a powerful abrasion test method to compare the coating with others. The process involved a rough sanding motion of the sandpaper over the coating. This mimics the wear of metal utensils during cooking.
The test also involved burning high-sugar condensed milk that mimics the caramelization and cooking of food on a scratched surface.
The repetitive cycles of abrasive motion and burning were combined with cold water wash tests. This helped determine the depth of the scratches and the number of washes needed to clean the surface.
Because the diamond-backed coating provides efficient heat transfer, you don’t need to use more than medium heat. This makes the pan also energy efficient.
The diamond coating of the Swiss Diamond Non-Stick Frying Pan outperforms the coating of all competing brands. In other words, the pan is precisely engineered to take a beating and last for years.
Is the pan oven and dishwasher safe?
The Swiss Diamond Non-Stick Skillet is a great searing and baking pan for juicy and tender chicken, pork, beef and more.
It is oven safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. You are also safe to use this cookware on electric, gas, radiant ring, halogen and glass-ceramic cooktops.
The pot is also dishwasher safe. However, we still recommend hand washing.
Advantages and disadvantages of the Swiss Diamond non-stick pan
Here is a brief overview of the pros and cons of this skillet:
Swiss Diamond Non-Stick Frying Pan User Manual
If you are considering buying this pan, keep the following points in mind:
cooking with oil
The Swiss Diamond frying pan is designed to cook without oil. That doesn’t mean you can’t use oil at all. If you want to cook in oil, use the pan at the correct heat setting.
For example, always set the heat to low for cooking in extra virgin olive oil and butter.
Recommended cooking utensils
Wooden and silicone utensils work best with this skillet. Nevertheless, all types of tools should be used with care.
Do not use tools with sharp points or edges. Do not cut, chop or use an electric mixer in the pan.
Thanks to the excellent thermal conductivity of the Swiss Diamond non-stick frying pan, you do not need to use high heat.
Start on medium heat and gradually increase it if necessary. Please note that overheating can damage the cooking surface. If you are using the pan on a hob, place it in the center of the heating surface.
Before adding food, place the pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. This should lead to optimal performance.
After 3 minutes, sprinkle a few drops of water on the cooking surface. If the water is bubbling or sizzling, you’re good to go. You can add your food.
However, if the water evaporates immediately, reduce the heat. Let it sit for 2 minutes before testing it again with water. Preheat an empty pan for a maximum of 5 minutes.
Clean the pan
Wash the pan thoroughly with warm soapy water before first use and after each use. Do not use oven cleaners, scouring pads or abrasive cleaners for cleaning.
If the pan is not cleaned properly after use, a thin layer of food remains on the cooking surface. When the pan is reheated, this residue can char, making the surface sticky.
Keep the pan
If you place one pan on top of the other, place a towel between them to prevent scratching.
Frequently asked questions about the Swiss Diamond frying pan with non-stick coating
Here is a list of questions buyers commonly ask about this cookware set:

You can, but the pan may be a little too full. When frying you want to leave some space between the pieces.
How deep is the pan?
It’s about an inch deep.
How does XD coating differ from HD?
Older Swiss Diamond frying pans were made with an HD coating. The new XD coating, as seen in the Swiss Diamond Non-Stick Frying Pan, is a huge improvement that will provide years of trouble free, high quality cooking.
The improved seal between the pan’s aluminum base and the cooking surface serves as a more corrosion-resistant layer.
This, combined with the use of 20% more diamonds, ensures longer life and 40% better food release than HD coating.
If I cook on medium heat, will it warp?
Since the bottom of the Swiss Diamond pan is quite thick, it will not warp when used over medium heat. However, you should not use it on high heat, otherwise the cooking surface will be damaged.
Is it an induction stove?
NO, the Swiss Diamond pan is not suitable for induction.
This was our take on the Swiss Diamond Non-Stick Skillet. Based on what we have discussed so far, we can say this is the best non-stick frying pan you can get. Longevity and cooking experience are primary concerns when buying a frying pan. Surprisingly, this pan tops each of those stats.
The only problem with the Swiss Diamond stove is that it is more expensive than other options. But then it offers great value for all that money.
