Many people are unaware that these molds are used specifically for making Bundt cakes.
Bundt cake molds are uniquely designed and if you don’t know what they are, that’s not a big deal.

Did you know that Bundt is actually the brand name of a company called Nordic Ware that made this pan?
Over time it became synonymous with cake and to this day all pans used for making Bundt cakes are known as Bundt cake pans, even if the pans are from another company.
Also, only in America are these pans known for making Bundt cakes.
In other countries like Austria and Germany Bundt cakes are also popularly eaten but they are known as Gugelhupf or Bundkuchen and in the Netherlands these cakes are called turban.
Although the actual time of manufacture of the pie pan is unknown, there is evidence that it was widely used in several cookbooks throughout the 20th century.
Why Are Bundt Cake Pans Good?
One of the main reasons for the popularity of the Bundt cake pan is that it speeds up baking time. They are known for their exceptionally fast cooking time.
Due to the design of these cake pans, they reach a minimum temperature faster than other cake pans.
Additionally, the design also ensures that the center of the cake is baked evenly and the heat from the oven is evenly distributed throughout the pan.

How to Use a Bundt Cake Pan

However, it’s not an easy-to-use cake pan, and unless you take precautions, you might end up with a broken cake or two.
A major problem is that the design of the Bundt pie pan makes it very difficult to line with parchment paper.
This is due to the intricate designs that are drawn on the mold.
If you place parchment paper on top, the cake won’t have the distinctive design or shape that Bundt cakes are known for.
For this reason, you will need to follow these steps to use the Bundt Cake Pan without any hassle:
Generously grease the mold
Grease the mold well and use butter for this. It’s a good idea to opt for unsalted butter because you’ll need to apply a lot of it.
Make sure there is enough butter to cover the pan well. No white residue should remain, but the butter should be sufficiently visible.
If you use cooking spray instead of butter, be sure to use a generous amount as well. Don’t skimp on this area.
Other; you can no longer take the cake out of the mold. First check if you have applied an even layer of grease, otherwise this can also cause problems.

If patting doesn’t loosen the cake, take a silicone spatula and gently scrape the sides of the cake to loosen it. Be very careful with this method, because any mistake here can spoil the cake.

Turn it upside down
Once you’ve loosened it, you can prepare to flip the pie pan over and pop it out.
Bundt cakes are usually upside down, which is why this pan is a favorite for making layered desserts.
While flipping the pan is easier for cakes, if you’ve made a dessert, you’ll need to be more careful in this area.
All you have to do is take the cake stand and place it on the pan. Then you need to turn the pan in one quick motion.
Make sure the plate does not slip or move unnecessarily. Do this in a place where you have enough space to stand comfortably. Otherwise, you might bang your elbow on something and drop the cake.
Use the push mechanism
Once the cake is turned over, you need to remove the mold.
This can be done using the push mechanism that comes with modern Bundt cake pans.
Just press in the center of the mold and the cake will come off easily.
After that, grab the sides of the pan and remove the pan very carefully. You have a perfectly formed Bundt cake right in front of you!
Then all you have to do is drizzle some syrup over the cake, add some light toppings and you can serve it as is.
In general, Bundt cakes are never frozen like regular cakes because they are already pretty or decorative.
